Twilight and girls..

View Comments

twilight parody0Twilight. I dunno why girls are so into it. I know they are crazy about Robert Pattinson but the movie is nothing. Plot is predictable, boring, sloppy, slow and the actors.. omg put some expressions please! Especially Bella, I know you’re supposed to be a melancholy one but.. I dunno.. I feel like slapping her all the time throughout the movie. When you laugh, laugh. Don’t hold your muscles!

I know you girls drool over Ed like we boys gasp watching Megan Fox. Oh by the way don’t you think we have a similar situation here? Twilight and Jennifer’s Body: Robert and Megan. I am a fan of Megan but I didn’t watch her/him/w.e movie just because of her body. There are other things to consider, but the most important point here is I don’t watch movies with crappy plot. Jen’s Body for example is one stupid movie, I stopped watching early despite it’s starred by Megan.

There’s this one time FlyFM played a song sang by Robert. Country-like. They asked the listeners whether they should play it or not. “He mumbles,” as quoted by Ben (correct me if I’m wrong). I agreed although most of the voters were not. Nasib dia keluar sikit je sequel kali ni =P

Girls and gays. Wake up!

Few parodies:

Nescagraff goes mobile

View Comments

Short update (I hope). You can now view my blog from your mobile phone by using this link:

http://mippin.com/nescagraff

Instead of surfing directly using the normal URL, you can try a service from Mippin, it’s totally free. By using that, this blog loads much faster even when you’re on GPRS connection. I think it’s similar to Google Reader mobile. Save bandwidth usage too! Suka suka suka!

Salam Aidiladha diucapkan kepada seluruh umat Islam.

Tahun ni aku raya dekat Subang je. Masak pun untuk kitorang² je. Macam biasa lah ada lauk typical raya i.e. rendang, kuah kacang, lontong (belum buat lagi), lemang tapi takde ketupat. Lemang pun baru tadi pergi cari. Selamat bertakbir :)

Actually I will only give 5 invites away as I’m saving 3 for my friends. It’s free but I have a favour to ask. In exchange for the invite, drop me a comment telling what will you do with it? I mean surely you have to know something about Wave right? I’ll choose the best 5 =P

Note: If you already have one, don’t be greedy, be fair and let our friends have their chance yah? Wave is only fun when you have someone to interact with.

PS: Oh don’t forget to leave your Gmail address too.

PPS: It might take days before your invitation comes in, so just wait.

DiGi Broadband update

View Comments

This is just an update for my previous post about DiGi Broadband where I complaint about getting EDGE signal all the time instead of HSDPA. Well the guy in charge read the blog and gave this trick:

1. Disconnect your DiGi broadband access.

2. Look for Tools > Options > Network. At the Network type tab, choose WCDMA only and Apply.

3. Connect back.

digi0

digi1

This will set the modem to accept only HSDPA signal and not EDGE. I think this setting applies to all 3G providers, as I did the same thing with Maxis GPRS.

PS: Eh why did he read my blog? Ok that’s 1 vote for DiGi customer service :P

PPS: BTW to the winners, we received RM108 package with 10gb usage quota. Fuhh I already past the 3gb limit…

winding road

Today is a winding road
Tell me where to start and tell me something I don’t know
Today I’m on my own
I can’t move a muscle and I can’t pick up the phone

I don’t know

And now I'm itching for the tall grass
And longing for the breeze
I need to step outside, just to see if I can breathe
I gotta find a way out

Maybe there’s a way out.

Free Broadband

View Comments

Thanks to Digi Pimp My Broadband contest, I won a USB modem and 3 months of free subscription to Digi Broadband. 30th place, I think those that joined will surely win, with or without votes lol. The package arrived yesterday morning and since I got nothing to do, my bro and I went to Digi Centre USJ to activate the service. Surprisingly the staff have no idea about the contest and they spent almost 1 hour calling to confirm, I guess.

digimodem

I don’t blame them as some I think are only part timers (from their chit chat) so the blame would probably goes to Digi main branch. A simple email about the contest would do to notify the customer service all over Malaysia, I mean send je la email paling susah pun, takkan la the people working behind the counters at a telecommunication company tak check their email, at least their manager should read it right? And it’s almost a month since they announced the winners. Takpe la, I’m not rushing anyway so it’s ok.

I got the RM58 Discover package, I think. The basic one. Forgot to ask them about this. The speed is super fast, ran some download and upload test at Speednet but I don’t think I get the max speed at that time.

Edit: I got the RM108 package with 10gb usage limit.

1 Click to zoom

But speed is not everything my friend. What’s more important to me is stability. That’s all that matters. What’s the point of downloading a 700mb file at 892kbps, you have 5% more to finish but suddenly the line got disconnected and you lost the 95% content you already downloaded. Apa aku merapu ni.. but you get what I mean right? I always get Edge instead of HSDPA. My Maxis broadband is a lot better at this.

Edit: To kick out Edge, see here.

Ok maybe the service is not for downloading purpose, nama pun mobile internet: used only when you’re outside, doing light surfing (IM, Facebook etc).

Wired connections are still the best. I still love Streamyx despite the curses people throw at them. What potong potong? All I hear are complains, no praise at all. I am grateful for the freebies from Digi but as a service provider, you guys have a lot to improve. Digi USJ customer service is ok, but not here and here (during the super cheap Digi promotion at 1 Utama). I have 3 months to survey, we’ll see if shifting to Digi is really a smart choice.

PES10 and Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria wtf

View Comments

pes10

I never thought of googling about this itching problem I have until today when the bumps have gone berserk, they appeared all over my skin! So I ran Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) on my computer, hoping by playing the game it would take my mind off the pain. Sadly no. This time the itching was too much to bear, not even half time playing PES my hands were already scratching here and there.

adezio

I took Adezio, a pill that will help lessen the itch and makes them disappear. It’s a drug and if I have class or anything important for the day, I normally will avoid swallowing one. Last time I went to few clinics to do the check up but all they gave were pills, which are similar to Adezio. They aren’t meant to cure but only to prevent it from getting worse. I am so afraid lazy to meet skin specialist. Heh..

After some research on the net, I came to my own conclusion (lol) that I am suffering Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria (CIU) or hives as the common definition states. Some facts, I think:

  • Allergy is a damaging immune response by the body to a substance to which it has become hypersensitive.
  • Same for CIU case, the body act the same way but without known cause.
  • CIU occurs when a person suffers from wheals (bintat as in Malay) or itching, almost daily, for over six weeks, with no obvious cause.
  • The word "idiopathic" means the condition stems from an unknown cause. Ha Ha Ha OK… =..=
  • The skin often becomes scarred and otherwise damaged from the wheals and scratching. *nods*

Ok I won’t spam the entry with more clinical terms and phrases, but yeah the wheals pop out like suka hati bapak dia without any reason at all. If you ask me whether I have other allergies from seafood, dust or buds.. The answer is no.

Hm hm but what I want to stress out here is this hehe as I also agree with the idea:

One of the main trigger to CIU is stress. Yes STRESSSS!

I got a lot of CIU symptoms during my previous final exam. I even brought with me some Adezio pills into the exam hall, in case the itching strikes. See here I can always telan that Adezio pill if wheals arouse but to cure the stress is the hardest part as I am known for being a short tempered guy.

Those who suffer from CIU deserve sympathy and understanding. Their condition may be debilitating and they may be unable to work or lead what most people would consider a normal life. Any help in making their lives a bit easier would probably be appreciated -- even if it is just a better understanding of their condition – taken from wisegeek.com Hahahahaha.. Betul betul!

BTW PES10 sucks. Lucky I didn’t go buy the game. Interface is good, I like it but the gameplay is bad. So hard to bring the ball to the goal line as the opponent always main kampung and steal the ball. Oh and why always Barca. Dah la diorang takde Eto’o dah. Huh..

PES10 leads to CIU. Hoo not good not good.

Some sources: wordslessspoken, ezinearticles.

PS: No CIU image because erm…..google them youself. Geli kot.

PPS: Why I tend to write long post nowadays.. Pakcik in the making.

Gravatar and some rants

View Comments

Eh I noticed this while blog hopping. Ever wonder why others have thumbnails when leaving comments at Wordpress blogs and yours not? Maybe you would like to consider a service from Gravatar. It’s not a problem if you’re a Wordpress user as they have it installed automatically but if you’re a Blogspot user like me, you will have to do it manually. Ah what is Gravatar actually eh?

gravatar

Your Gravatar is an image that follows you from site to site appearing beside your name when you do things like comment or post on a blog. Avatars help identify your posts on blogs and web forums. – taken from Gravatar main site.

Gravatar plugins are available for popular blogging software; when the user posts a comment on such a blog that requires an e-mail address, the blogging software checks whether that email address has an associated avatar at Gravatar. If so, the Gravatar is shown along with the comment. – from Wiki.

Well I don’t know if we have other service such as this but so far Gravatar is the most popular one. So get your own Gravatar now. Just give your email address oni, that’s all! ☺

wordpress thumb-blogspot

Done with Gravatar, and here I just want to state my stand on an issue: Blogspot or Wordpress.

There are some fights started by few bloggers about this. Why must we choose Wordpress and why not Blogspot. Some say if you want to be a great blogger, go with Wordpress. And they even curse those who still using Blogspot and will not visit the blogs.

Come on la, not all become bloggers want to be famous. Not all blog to get side income. Not all blog to get super traffic in. Some of us blog just to share things among ourselves, that is to our friends. Maybe because we are so used to live within close friends and families we didn’t see this making any sense, but what about people who live abroad, those who can’t contact each other because of the long distance and time zone difference? Making a diary online is one way to solve that, although the word diary typically resembles something personal and can be shared only to oneself. Oh wait, why not just IM? Facebook? Think hard again, and you’ll know.

Over Wordpress and Blogspot matter, it’s up to them la which one should they choose. Both have their own pros and cons. Wordpress is good for having many plugins but the interface is not so user friendly, that is why people look for alternatives such as Blogspot. Being a noob myself, I choose Blogspot over Wordpress simply because it’s easier to make a blog rather than clicking here and there to set up one at Wordpress. So what if I’m a noob? You want to kill me?

noobsux

Oh yes I am offended over such stupid comments. What if they choose other blogging platform like Xanga, TypePad, LiveJournal, Posterous, Tumblr etc? You won’t visit them just because of that? Aiyoo..

Learning Google Wave

View Comments

google_wave_logoHah! It’s not learning, it’s playing. I am no developer nor programmer, and being a techy noob, all I can do is google some informations about it. Hahaha.. Still, I am curious of what Google Wave (GW) is all about. So I asked a blogger friend of mine, Marvin to send me an invite =x Thanks dude!

Beware! This is a f*cking long post. Read only if you’re interested. I’m just sharing.

*kulu*kulu*kulu*

Let’s hear what Wiki said about GW:

“a web-based service, computing platform, and communications protocol designed to merge e-mail, instant messaging, wikis, and social networking”

Web-based because GW uses Internet browsers to operate, so far only Chrome and Firefox are able to fulfil the requirement. IE users will have to download plugin for that (Microsoft warned people from doing so lols). Huh who cares.. and who still uses IE anyway?

Google introduce GW to replace emails, view this video to get rough ideas of what GW is:

Replace email.. Maybe. But not instant messaging (IM) and social networks. I think Yahoo Messenger, MSN, Facebook and Myspace still rule. People love Facebook’s stupid annoying quizzes. That’s the reason why.

Hmmmmmmmmm.. After spending hours ‘playing’, these are what I can think of:

1. Live editing conferences

AE_insideCMYK.indd

  • Mentioned in every GW related post.
  • Eg: discussing a Malaysian Studies folio project with your group members.
  • Since everyone has a web browser (of course you need internet connection), no more excuses like “Eh I’m a girl, I can’t meet up with you guys since it’s already midnight” or “What? Meeting? Again? Lazy la, need to go to McD just for discussion bla bla”
  • Save money, save petrol, no need to make up, no need to bathe. Just stay inside your own smelly room and work!
  • All you probably miss is only Mc Flurry Oreo. And some French fries.
  • Editing can be done instantly, anywhere, anytime.
  • What if you are lost and confused as you missed the earlier part of the conversation (coz you woke up late)? No worries, there’s a timeline bar for that, you can playback with ease.
  • You can even see your friend’s ‘movements’ while he’s editing, you know like the one in IMs’.

 2. Making a guide/newsletter

Chaos argent

  • Okay I was an addict gamer back then, so guides and walkthroughs were my best friends.
  • Take MMORPG for example; we have list of classes and races to choose from, being a pro smart gamer, checking guides for what’s best is a must.
  • People will make guides and tutorials for this purpose, but the guides are limited to their gaming experiences.
  • Some would agree and some would not, so little amendments can be done by other gamers to perfect it.

3. Alternative for Forums

forum

  • Forums are useful, so much info can be shared there but they are not so user friendly.
  • Plus you have to refresh the page a lot to view any updates. Waste of bandwidth if the forum has high resolution pictures etc.
  • Since GW uses a real-time ‘page’, the updates can be seen faster.
  • Replies are much easier and specific.

4. Alternative for Twitter

120308_twitter_addicted

  • Still Twitter will win in term of mobility but what if Google make GW a portable app for phones?
  • Twitter would probably be less popular. Unless they join the wave thingy.
  • Why? I think with GW, Google can categorize and tidy tweets better, as replies can be seen easily just like Plurk’s timeline.

5. A better Google Reader

This is a normal wave

wave6

converted into embed wave..

waveall

  • One thing I noticed is GW’s ability to embed things into websites, I’ll take blog as example.
  • At the bottom of this post, I embed a wave (we call any ‘project’ inside GW as wave, just like document in Microsoft Office).
  • This wave can react as blog comments and any visitor who already logged into their Google Wave account, will be added automatically to the wave contact ‘list’.
  • The interesting part is, let say a boy named Tomok left a comment at my blog and few hours later another visitor replies Tomok’s comment. Traditionally Tomok would have to visit my blog again to reply but if he got GW, there’s no need for that. He can just reply from his GW page.
  • This applies to everyone listed in the wave contact list.

How public GW editing works:

wave1 wave2

                                    1                                                                           2

wave3 wave4

                                    3                                                                           4

wave5

List of public bots I tried, add those in green as your GW contact:

  • wikifier@appspot.com
<wikify yourtopic> - adds wiki link to yourtopic
<wikidef yourtopic> - display full definitions of yourtopic
  • flippy-wave@appspot.com
    rotate your text 180 deg
  • elizarobot@appspot.com
she talks to you when no one does
    good for testing self-made bot

eg. (click to enlarge):

wavebot1 wavebot2

  • tweety-wave@appspot.com
    update twitter from GW
  • roshambowave@appspot.com
    play rock-paper-scissor
  • blog-wave@appspot.com
embed a wave into your website

 . . .

My conclusion of this super-long-post-which-no-one-gonna-read-but-I-still-type-wtf :

GW is cool, but they should make it much user friendly. Actually it is right now, maybe I need some time to get use to it. It’s hard to explain and understand by just reading without having a look and touch it ourselves.

For now GW is still not available for public, those who got it are either invited by Google or by friends. I can’t invite others so don’t ask me for one. You can apply for an account here though, it takes time for Google to approve as they are limiting the service till they can handle the growing numbers.

All above are only my assumptions. Correct me if I am wrong thanks.

Do add me: acaptake2@googlewave.com :)

Sources: mashable, carsonified.com, my.biotechlife.net, googlewaveinfo.com, software.silicon.com and a lot more..

Sample of a wave I created, sorry only those with an account can view huhu:  lags the blog, so I put it out.

Yes I have all the time in the world right now for another blog haha. Why not go out and have a life, you ask? Give me the $ to do so and I’ll follow you where ever you go. Woh defensive. Betul la. Similar situation:

You want to have an awek but you can’t afford to treat her or meet her or even call her. Why bother then? You think instant messaging or Facebooking her will please both hearts? Fuiyo.

View Comments

It’s not a love story, it’s a story of a boy meets a girl. The warning is clear enough.

500 Days of Summer

The intro was pretty boring and slow, not the type of movie I’ll continue to watch after knowing that. Normally I would ‘shift+del’ them, yeah no mercy. Plus the 500 “days” thingy got me confused dammit. I wasn’t able to grasp what does that mean until the story came to an end. “Oooooh” was all I can say.

But I still insisted on watching, yeah because I already downloaded the movie which is over 1gb, no way I want to throw it away just like that. I told myself to give the movie a chance, plus I don’t have anything to do anyway, so why not..?

Err.. maybe I’ll spoil some here, so don’t read further if you’re interested to watch.

500_days_of_summer_1 The boy and the girl.

Lots of flashbacks as the movie is progressing (huh it’s the days thingy I mentioned earlier) and being a slow learner I am, it took me awhile to get the idea. I have to say this is actually a love story, despite the warning says otherwise, only they should add the word ‘fail’ to make it failed-love-story. Yaps. Oh about the plot, you might think that in the end, the girl will accept the boy’s hard work to steal her heart, but no! Dah cakap dah kan. Failed romance.

My take: 8/10

Things will not always go our way, there are so many little hurdles we have to face. Fate is one and coincidence is another. You maybe be lucky if you’re not stuck with problems but surely, surely they will come to bother you, even if it’s not a head on, they may linger with people around us. Family. Friends. Right? Well, just my life experience after 23 years. I may be wrong.

The ending song by Mumm-Ra. Love it.

Silly update

Silly update, originally uploaded by Nescagraff.

Ahaks just a tease of what I'm having right now. It's chilled and sweet, just nice to savour :p

Btw, I'm currently watching Fringe the new episode, done with Heroes and Leverage. 500 days of Summer is still in queue, maybe will have the chance to watch it tonight.

Not that I'm busy or what, but recently there's nothing to blog about or perhaps no mood to write. I won't force myself (silly, you just did), so I'll update when there's a will. I suppose we (my family) will follow Abah to Kedah or maybe Langkawi for his outstation work. Ah but dunno when, forgot to ask.

Neway good luck to those having exams this week XP *eats popcorn*

Google Chrome Bookmark Sync

View Comments

This is for Google Chrome users, if you haven’t notice, there’s a new feature for Google Chrome beta (4.0.223.16) that is Bookmark Syncing. You can find this function here:

googlesync

and more at Option > Personal Stuff here:

googlesync2

As for me, it’s very useful as I’m using a desktop PC, and whenever I go back home for weekends, there’s no way I would drag my PC down with me. Instead I prefer to use my dad’s lappy and that’s when problems come. No usual playlists, no social apps and worst of all- my bookmarks.

Not just that, there were few times when I needed to reformat my PC (I know it’s not good for the hard disc), and I have to install back all applications and software including the web browsers. Yes it’s a pain in the ass to search back the sites I love and store it back into the new browsers. I know I can save the bookmarks as HTML file and retrieve it back but sometimes it just won’t work.

So with the new feature by Google Chrome, I just have to log into any PC with Chrome Beta installed and walla! I have my bookmarks back. What’s more with this new update, Google claimed that the browser is 30% faster. Bravo la Google, I love your products (SketchUp, Google Reader, Google Maps). Gmail to me is much faster than Yahoo Mail and definitely a lot faster than Hotmail. Don’t you think its time to shift? Yeah they hired me to say this. Really. \( ^ 3 ^)/

Watch this lame and boring video about the new syncing:

Google is always like that. They deliver good stuffs but the people are just nerds with green screen at the back. At least that’s what we the users see it. Kan? Put some expressions la dude come on!!

Bored like a boring brick

It’s a boring one, no info or news whatsoever so just skip if you find this boring. You’ve been warned.

.

.

.

Can’t believe it will be this hard. I’m bored to death and it’s only the second day of my short break. Classes will be back on 30th Nov (I think) but now I’m counting days for it to begin. Gahhhh.. Oh btw I’m still stuck here at uni campus, too lazy to do the packing for clearance. And waiting for mami to call asking why I’m still here and not at home. Malas aaa mami…

boring

I want to snap the picture of me doing this but the room’s condition is erm yeah so erm.

What to do what to do?!!!!

I woke up at 7am this morning, surprisingly my eyes just went pop! and I was awake. Not sleepy at all, no snoozes needed, no tarik selimut like always.

Why now why when there’s no class to attend?

Abis tu nak buat apa je cuti ni.. Part time? Maybe but only if there’s event to join. Don’t wanna waste every single day working like machine. This final exam really put me into study mode, been so long since I am this rajin. I didn’t work this hard for my A-Levels, neither when I was at Germany. The last time I struggled were during the school years. Still, I don’t see any hope on passing this one. Tawakal tawakal.

Hmm there’s a gathering at Port Dickson this coming 7th organised by Prince Network peeps, thinking of going but one thing that worries me is the satria’s condition. I got her into someone’s butt, made the lamp pushed in and I can’t lift the hood anymore. So no minor service can be done. Long travel journey is not a wise decision.

Been listening to Bullet for my Valentine since yesterday. No more gleeful Mocca songs. Ini pun nak bitau.

Received two emails already from library asking to return the Linear book I borrowed. Berapa inggit dah kena denda ni.

Bought a packet of Maggi for no reason, I dislike the taste but I like the aroma of MSG. Tomyam.

Mocca at Laman Budaya

View Comments

moccaconcert11Went to Mocca’s Tales of 10 Years concert at Laman Budaya, Shah Alam last nite, together with Aiman, Ayu, Arra and her boyfie Boy (pun). Apa barang AAR! Tak metal! Rushed to Shah Alam right after we finished our last paper for this sem, Static at 5pm hoho. Managed to cut the waiting queue and passed thru the entrance accidentally easy. Kurang ajar betul haha.

moccaconcert16

Postbox from Singapore performed first, a great band, interesting. Oh thanks for the shirt, haha you should throw your EP to me too. Yuna performed next. It’s been so long since I’ve seen this girl singing live coz the last time I saw her perform was at SK Seafield during my primary years. She already had her fans back then, at least I know one of them which is also an old friend of mine, Emir lols. He got a crush on her and we (Hilal, Muzani, Izwan) used to tease him. How I miss them sigh..

moccaconcert2 Finally the much awaited band came out on stage- Mocca!

moccaconcert10 Terus main seruling

moccaconcert4 and she can do tap dancing!

moccaconcert17

Both of Arina and Yuna are very good at live singing. It was like listening to the albums, Arina really is a good singer! They will have a new album coming out soon hoho can’t wait. And their last song for the night was Happy. Oh sangat sesuai dengan paper Statics petang tadi.

moccaconcert14

We had so much fun, although it’s a last minute call. Thanks for those who came along, I’m sure they all enjoyed it too. Thanks arra for the tweet, sadly only this five able to make it there, others are still busy with their final exam. Even some of my friends are having exam, yap today, Sunday. That’s Uniten for you.

Music unites people, said Toma the bassist.
